Wearing Gloves While Cleaning to Protect Yourself from COVID-19

A mask and hand sanitizer have been added to our list of things we don’t leave home without during the pandemic, but what about gloves?

The CDC states that gloves aren’t necessary for the general population in most circumstances, like running errands, but they do recommend wearing gloves when cleaning or caring for someone who is sick.

Wear Gloves When Cleaning

Gloves protect your hands while cleaning and should be worn whenever you are cleaning or disinfecting a space. Before putting your gloves on, wash and dry your hands well. Remember not to touch uncontaminated items with contaminated gloves, and remove your gloves immediately after use. When taking off your gloves, pull so they come off inside out. Dispose of your gloves safely, and wash your hands before you touch any object or surface.
